Metrotvnews.com, Cianjur: Penderita HIV/AIDS di Kabupaten Cianjur, Jawa Barat, banyak didominasi pasangan yang sudah menikah. Rata-rata penyebaran utamanya akibat bergonta-ganti pasangan dan jarum suntik.
Menurut Sekretaris Komisi Penanggulangan AIDS (KPA) Kabupaten Cianjur Hilman, di Kabupaten Cianjur, penyebab HIV/AIDS hampir 88% akibat hubungan seksual. Hampir separuh penderitanya atau 48% merupakan pasangan menikah.

HA NOI (VNS) —The number of people with HIV in Viet Nam has fallen to under 0.3 per cent, said National Assembly Committee for Social Affairs Vice Chairman Dang Thuan Phong at a conference on Thursday.
The Ha Noi-based conference, "Investment strategy on HIV/AIDS prevention and control", was organized by the National Assembly Committee for Social Affairs in coordination with the Viet Nam Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).

The ongoing controversy over admission of 13 HIV positive orphans in Goa has put spotlight on social stigma and negativity in thoughts of the people towards HIV-positive patients.
13 HIV positive orphans have been denied admission by at least three schools in Rivona village, in Goa's south eastern sub district of Sanguem because of strong objections from parents. The 13 orphans had been enrolled in an open school before the nuns who run their community care centre decided to admit them to regular school this year.

HIV infections are rising among gay men in many parts of the world, the World Health Organization warned Friday, urging all men who have sex with men to take antiretroviral drugs to prevent infection.
"We are seeing exploding epidemics," warned Gottfried Hirnschall, who heads WHO's HIV department.
Infection rates are rising again among men who have sex with men -- the group at the epicentre of AIDS pandemic when it first emerged 33 years ago, he told reporters in Geneva.

The HHS Office of HIV/AIDS and Infectious Disease Policy (OHAIDP) recently hosted a webinar to foster continued dialogue among diverse stakeholders about challenges, opportunities, and emerging promising practices related to addressing the disparate HIV-related health outcomes experienced by black gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM). The June 25 webinar highlighted innovative approaches and strategies being implemented by state health departments, clinical providers, researchers, and federal partners. With nearly 1,300 registrants, this topic is clearly of concern to many in the HIV community.
