Yuli Rahmawati, S.Sos is a research assistant consultant at the Centre for Health Policy and Management (CHPM), Faculty of Medicine, Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta. She graduated from Atmajaya University Jogjakarta at the Political and Social Science Department with a major study in Communications. She passionate working with communities and started to work as a volunteer in 1997 until 2002 in a few projects with focused issues at Reproductive Health, HIV and AIDS Prevention, and Child Protection. Since the last twelve years she has extensive experiences working in humanitarian work and community development issues for urban and rural area. Mostly of her assignment is engaged to work with marginalized community and emergency situations with several national and international institutions such as International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), GTZ, Combine Resource Institution, Unicef, International Relief and Development (IRD), Ausaid, Fauna and Flora International (FFI), trees-4-trees, and the World Bank.
Muhammad Suharni, is a researcher at Center for Health Policy and Management (CHPM), Faculty of Medicine, Gadjah Mada University. He completed his Master of Arts in Anthropology 1997, at Department of Sociology and Anthropology Ateneo de Manila University, the Philippines. He was a recipient of The IPC-DSA scholarship program, with funds from the Ford Foundation. Starting career as an enumerator and field worker in area of family planning, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS and harm reduction issue. He spent most of time working in a local NGO in Palembang as researcher and program manager on the issue of harm reduction. He was a National IDU officer and West Java IDU officer for Harm reduction program of the Family Health International (FHI)-Indonesia 2007 – 2010. Currently, he serves as a researcher of the HIV/AIDS Policy and Programming within the Framework of Health System in Indonesia, an Australia – Indonesia Partnership program for HIV (AIPH). His research interest is mainly on topics around policy and good governance on HIV/ AIDS and marginalized populations.
Iko Safika, Ph.D is a principle investigator (PI) at the Center for Health Policy and Management (CHPM), Faculty of Medicine, Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta and a research fellow at AIDS Research Center (ARC), Atmajaya Catholic University in Indonesia. She is a PI at CHPM under project entitled “HIV/AIDS Policy and Programming within the Framework of Health System in Indonesia”, the Australia – Indonesia Partnership for HIV (AIPH). She received her doctorate in 2009 at the Division of Health Policy Administration of the School of Public Health, University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). She was a recipient of the UIC-AIDS International Training and Research Program (AITRP) scholarship by the Fogarty International Center, US National Institute. She was also a postdoctoral fellowship recipient for the International AIDS Society (IAS) and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) joint fellowship programme encouraging HIV and drug use research. Prior to this, she was working as a Team Leader with the Eijkman-Oxford Clinical Research Unit in Jakarta, Indonesia. She was also a consultant for the USAID Scaling Up for Most-At-Risk Populations (SUM) project, which aimed at increasing the HIV response in Indonesia. During her consultant work, she has assisted Civil Society Organizations partnered with SUM to monitor and evaluate their HIV programming. Her research interests include HIV risk behavior among key-affected populations (KAPs), particularly focus on understanding the dynamic relationship between the personal attributes of KAPs and the social environment in which they engage in risky behavior. She is also interested in cross-cultural survey methodology and multilevel analysis.
