KOMPAS.com - Remaja yang menawarkan seks demi uang atau yang kini populer dengan istilah "cabe-cabean" menghadapi risiko kesehatan yang tidak kecil. Mereka berisiko tinggi tertular dan menularkan HIV, serta infeksi menular seksual (IMS).
"Jika tidak menggunakan pengaman mereka sangat rentan tertular. Karena itu, penting bagi mereka untuk sadar akan penggunaan pengaman, seperti kondom," ujar seksolog dan spesialis andrologi, Wimpie Pangkahila saat dihubungi Kompas Health, Kamis (4/4/2014).

Jakarta - Pemerintah Indonesia menyatakan siap menyambut kedatangan filantropis terkemuka, Bill Gates, ke Indonesia pada 5 April 2014 mendatang. Kedatangan Bill Gates untuk mendukung sepenuhnya pembentukan Indonesian Health Fund.
Menko Kesra, Agung Laksono, mengatakan kunjungan Bill Gates ini merupakan kehormatan bagi Indonesia sebagai salah satu negara penerima donor terbesar dari Global Fund. Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation dan Tahir Foudation melalui Global Fund telah membantu menanggulangi beberapa penyakit menular dan membiayai program KB di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, Pemerintah Indonesia memberikan apresiasi tinggi terhadapnya.

MANILA, Philippines—Four hundred eighty-six new cases of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which could lead to the fatal Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), were reported in February, a 43-percent increase from figures seen in the same period in 2013, the Department of Health said.
Out of 486 cases, 36 were already full-blown AIDS, it added.

Johannesburg - An estimated 6.4 million people were living with HIV/Aids in 2012, a study by the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) revealed on Tuesday.
The findings of the SA National HIV Prevalence, Incidence and Behaviour Survey 2012, was officially launched in Pretoria.
Over 38 000 people were interviewed and almost 29 000 agreed to be tested for HIV.

The Department of Health yesterday signed a ground-breaking pledge with traditional leaders in a renewed effort to fight TB, HIV-Aids and other sexually transmitted diseases in the country.
The pledge was signed under the auspices of the South African National Aids Council (Sanac)in Centurion, outside Pretoria, and follows a renewed effort to stamp out TB and HIV-Aids especially in rural areas where traditional leaders still command respect and confidence among communities.
Traditional leaders form a significant part of Sanac which is driven from the office of Deputy President Kgalema Mothlanthe.
