JKN memberikan perlindungan bagi Warga Negara Indonesia agar mereka tidak mengalami goncangan sosial, yang mungkin mendorong mereka ke jurang kemiskinan, ketika mereka sakit,

Denpasar (ANTARA News) - Pemerintah menanggung sekitar 86,4 juta jiwa masyarakat miskin penerima bantuan iuran (PBI) yang tersebar di Indonesia.

"Mereka sebagai peserta jaminan kesehatan nasional (JKN) sebagai bagian dari Sistem Jaminan Sosial Nasional 2014," kata Kepala Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi Bali dr Ketut Suarjaya di Denpasar, Rabu.

Hong Kong (HKSAR) - A total of 559 new cases of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection were reported to the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) in 2013, compared with 513 cases in 2012.

Reviewing the local HIV/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) situation at a pressconference today (February 25), the Consultant (Special Preventive Programme) of the CHP, Dr Wong Ka-hing, said that sexual transmission remained the major mode of HIV transmission in Hong Kong.

Dr Wong stressed the importance of proper use of condoms in reducing the risk of contracting HIV.

As the world works on attaining the long term strategic approach of three zeros in fight against HIV/AIDS, the government has pledged full support to the Tanzania Commission for AIDS (TACAIDS) to help achieve the goal.

The three zeros which stand for zero HIV new infections, zero discrimination against people living with HIV and zero AIDS related deaths.

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, PRABUMULIH - Setelah menjalani perawatan secara intensif di ruang khusus Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah (RSUD) kota Prabumulih selama satu minggu, IG yang merupakan nara pidana Rutan Kelas IIB Prabumulih diduga mengindap penyakit Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), meninggal dunia.

IG yang mendapat perawatan dari tim khusus RSUD Prabumulih menghembuskan nafas terakhir pada Senin (24/2/2014) sekitar pukul 02.30. Jenazah narapidana yang terlibat kasus pencurian dengan pidana dua tahun tersebut, langsung dibawa pihak keluarga ke rumah duka untuk selanjutnya dimakamkan ke pemakaman keluarga.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – An assistant professor of chemistry at Case Western Reserve University is one of a dozen recipients of a new grant from amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research.

The seven-person laboratory of Blanton Tolbert, who joined CWRU in 2012, will receive $180,000 to continue work on analyzing HIV in its latent state. That's the state of the virus when it "goes silent" after replicating and moving into other, healthy cells.

Tolbert's research - an ongoing collaboration with the lab of Jonathan Karn, a professor and chairman of molecular biology and microbiology at CWRU - involves understanding how HIV takes over the body's cells to replicate.
