HIV merupakan varian virus kanker manusia yang juga dikenal HTLV-3.

VIVAnews - 30 tahun lalu, tim ilmuwan Amerika Serikat (AS) mengumumkan virus penyebab penyakit hilangnya sistem kekebalan tubuh, yang disebut Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). Virus itu disebut Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

Bagi dunia medis, penemuan virus yang menimbulkan penyakit mematikan itu dianggap sebagai pencapaian monumental. Menurut stasiun televisi BBC, penemuan ini diumumkan pada 23 April 1984 di Washington DC, AS, oleh Menteri Kesehatan Margaret Heckler.

Time and time again, our analytics and usability testing tell us that the HIV basics pages are among the most visited pages on the site. In tandem with this, the Pew Internet & American Life Project Exit Disclaimer has reported on the rise of mobile use in the U.S., finding that 63% of American adult cell phone owners use their phones to go online Exit Disclaimer (as of May 2013) and 42% own a tablet device Exit Disclaimer (as of January 2014).

That's why, over the past few years, we've focused on optimizing AIDS.gov for mobile devices (including smartphones and tablets) with responsive design (if you haven't already, type www.aids.gov into the browser on your smartphone or tablet to see how the site adapts to the size of your screen).

In addition to the focus on mobile web, our team has released two mobile apps which include the HIV/AIDS Prevention & Service Provider Locator app and Facing AIDS photo app. Now, we're thrilled to debut our latest app for the iPad: the HIV/AIDS Basics flipboard app Exit Disclaimer.

Do we spend too much on HIV/AIDS research?

I ask this question, but do not plan to give an answer. It is an open-ended question of mine because,as a biomedical scientist, I am trying to understand the philosophy of how government decides to spend money.

Most biomedical scientists receive funding from the National Institutes of Health(NIH). For 2014, the government wants to allocate 2,722 million dollars for HIV/AIDS research. Based on the number of people living withHIV/AIDS, the government plans to spend ~$2500 dollars per person per year in2014.

Riauterkini-TEMBILAHAN-Sampai akhir November tahun 2013 lalu, telah ditemukan 77 kasus HIV/ AIDS di Indragiri Hilir.

Kasus kematian akibat AIDS di Indonesia diperkirakan mencapai 5.500 jiwa. Epidemi tersebut terutama terkonsentrasi dikalangan pengguna obat terlarang melalui jarum suntik dan pasangan intimnya.

Hal tersebut disampaikan Ketua Tim TP PKK Inhil Hj Zulaikhah Wardan saat membuka kegiatan sosialisasi penyakit HIV/AIDS dan penyakit sosial lainnya yang dilaksanakan di Aula Grand Hotel Tembilahan Jalan b Batang Tuaka Tembilahan.
