Raja Ampat - Menteri Koordinator bidang Kesejahteraan Rakyat Agung Laksono mengatakan potensi pariwisata di Raja Ampat cukup memikat, baik wisata di daratan maupun di bawah laut. Perkembangan infrastruktur di salah salah satu destinasi wisata di timur Indonesia ini pun begitu pesat. Bahkan saat ini sudah dibangun lapangan terbang meski panjang landasannya masih 1.200 meter.
Meningkatnya sektor pariwisata di Raja Ampat tentu akan mendatangkan keuntungan, baik untuk daerah, pemerintah provinsi maupun pemerintah pusat. Namun demikian, Agung mengingatkan bahwa ada yang perlu diwaspadai dari mobilitas wisatawan baik dalam maupun luar negeri yang datang ke Raja Ampat.

RSHS,(GM).- Dalam tiga tahun terakhir (1 Juli 2010-30 Juni 2013), Rumah Sakit Hasan Sadikan (RSHS) Bandung menangani 964 pasien infeksi menular seksual. Data tersebut berdasarkan rekam medis Poliklinik Ilmu Kesehatan Kulit dan Kelamin Divisi Infeksi Menular Seksual (IMS).
Tingkat prevalensi (kecenderungan) penyakit menular ini dialami pasien berusia 10-19 tahun (9,34%) atau 90 orang. Sebanyak 35,5 persen remaja tersebut menderita lebih dari satu IMS.
Data dari Klinik Teratai, yaitu klinik yang khusus menangani human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS), sekitar 90% penderita adalah kelompok usia 17-25 tahun. Dengan demikian, mereka pertama kali tertular HIV pada usia remaja.

OUTDATED cxultural practices are to blame for the spread of HIV-Aids among the Luo community, an NGO has said.
Mumbo Cultural and Development Forum secretary Aguko Mayora said the community should discard some outdated cultural practices, which contribute to the spread of the disease.
"Outdated cultural practices should be discarded if we are to contain the spread. Widow inheritance should be discouraged and men should go for voluntary circumcision," he said.
Mayora decried the high HIV-Aids prevalence in Homa Bay county . He said the cultural beliefs in the community have affected campaigns against the spread of HIV-Aids.

The number of people living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) in the Philippines is projected to hit 32,379 by the end of 2014, according to the Department of Health (DOH).
During the Senate inquiry on six bills that will strengthen policies on HIV and AIDS prevention and treatment, DOH Assistant Secretary Enrique Tayag said the reported HIV cases have reached 19,330 since 1984 when the first Filipino HIV case was confirmed by the DOH.

MANILA, Philippines -- By the end of 2014, the number of people living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) in the Philippines is projected to hit 32,379, according to the Department of Health.
During the Senate inquiry on six bills that will strengthen policies on HIV and AIDS prevention and treatment, DOH Assistant Secretary Enrique Tayag said the reported HIV cases has reached 19,330 since 1984 when the first Filipino HIV case was confirmed by the DOH.
"The new HIV cases has actually increased by 532 percent from 2008 to 2013 and for January to June this year alone, the total reported cases hit 2,814," Tayag told the Senate committee on health and demography chaired by Sen. Pia Cayetano.
