Liputan6.com, Jakarta Banyak artis yang menjadi brand ambassador aksi peduli HIV AIDS yang tergabung dalam TemanTeman.org, diantaranya adalah Joe Taslim dan Dian Sastro. Mereka berdua sangat mendukung gerakan aksi peduli pemberantasan HIV AIDS sebelum semakin meluas dan tak tertangani.
Joe dan Dian menyarankan pengetahuan dan pendeteksian dini terhadap HIV AIDS bisa membuat orang bangkit untuk hidup sehat. Jika seorang yang mengidap diketahui secara dini, penanganannya akan lebih mudah. Joe dan Dian membenarkan, mereka memiliki hak dan kesempatan untuk hidup dan mendapatkan perlakuan yang sama.

Pendiri dan direktur eksekutif dari Life Bloom Services International yang bermarkas di Kenya, Catherine Mumbi Wanjohi menghimbau dan mendukung agar Gereja-gereja Afrika mau melangkah masuk kedalam kehidupan penderita HIV dan AIDS untuk menolong dan mendukung mereka terlepas dari keadaan mereka saat ini.
"Saya menyadari bahwa tidak banyak gereja dan kelompok-kelompok dari Afrika di konferensi secara langsung mengatasi tantangan yang dihadapi oleh pekerja seks," sebutnya dilansir oikumene.org Jumat (2/5).
penulis A Walk at Midnight: Journeying with Abused Women and Girls Towards Inner Dignity and Wholeness ini menghargai inisiatif gereja untuk mendukung perempuan melawan HIV dan AIDS. Gereja-gereja dan EHAIA diterima dengan sukacita oleh para narapidana dan mereka merasa bahwa Tuhan masih mengingat mereka.

HAVANA, May 7 2014 (IPS) - All illusions of love, trust and dedication to a relationship flew out the window for Mayda Torres in 1992, when she found out she was HIV-positive while undergoing routine exams to start a new job.
"I had a stable relationship. I wasn't unfaithful. And I hadn't ever had a sexually transmitted infection [STI]," the 49-year-old resident of the Cuban capital told IPS.
"When I got to the hospital [of Santiago de las Vegas, in Havana], I was shocked to see my husband there. He was HIV-positive and he never told me," said Torres, who is now a sexual health outreach worker.

Since the first reported HIV and AIDS case in Ghana in the 1980s, there has been no let in steps to lower its spread.
Those steps, which included a 50 per cent reduction in prevalence each year, have paid off, enabling the country to record an all-time low prevalence rate of 1.3 per cent last year, from the 2003 rate of 3.6 per cent.

In Kondele, sex is in high demand. Prostitutes charge clients as little as 20 shillings (14p), or provide sex on credit with the hope of being paid at the end of the month.
The area is a low-end red-light district in the western Kenyan city of Kisumu. The temptation for many women, given the low fees, is to make potentially dangerous concessions in order to earn more, such as forgoing condoms.
