GEORGE TOWN, May 7 (Bernama) -- An increase in the number of HIV/Aids cases among youths, especially those aged between 20 and 30, is alarming said Deputy Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya.

Hilmi said 78.8 percent of the cases involves youths who are between 20 and 30 years old.

Nagaland along with the rest of the world today observed the World AIDS Orphans Day at a function held at LCS Building, Kohima. The event was organized by the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society, along with the Network of Kohima District People Living with HIV/AIDS (KNP+).

According to the Strategic Information Management System (SIMS), there are 693 children infected with HIV in Nagaland and about 100 children orphaned by HIV/AIDS.

Melihat THM di Pemukiman Terpencil

Gorontalo, HanTer - Komisi Penanggulangan AIDS (KPA) Provinsi Gorontalo mendirikan puluhan outlet kondom di sejumlah hotel dan tempat hiburan.

Sekretaris KPA Provinsi Gorontalo, Irwan mengatakan bahwa outlet kondom tersebut bertujuan melayani permintaan kondom dari pasangan yang berada di lokasi-lokasi tersebut.

"Prinsipnya adalah pencegahan penularan HIV/AIDS di tempat dan kelompok berisiko. Kondom ini kami berikan secara gratis kepada pengelola hotel dan tempat hiburan," katanya saat temu media di Gorontalo, Selasa (6/5).
